Dean of School of Management to Speak At "mgm casino At Sunrise"

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Suggestions on how to cope in today's complex financial world will be the focus of a "mgm casino at Sunrise" breakfast program to be held from 7:30-9 a.m. Feb. 18 in the Center for Tomorrow on the mgm casino North (Amherst) Campus.

In a lecture titled, "Coping in a Bewildering Financial Environment," Lewis Mandell, Ph.D., dean of the mgm casino School of Management, will explore the increasingly sophisticated financial decisions facing today's society and give expert tips on how to prosper financially.

Mandell, an expert in the areas of banking, commercial lending, credit cards and consumer credit, is the author of 16 books on understanding personal finance.

His most recent book, "Our Vulnerable Youth: The Financial Literacy of American 12th Graders" (Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, 1998) focuse on the debt, bad credit, poor retirement planning and bankruptcy that lies ahead for today's American teen-agers.

He is a member of the board of directors of the Variable Annuities of the Travelers Insurance Co. and GZA Geoenvironmental, and has served as a consultant for numerous clients, among them Aetna, American Express, Chase Manhattan Bank, Fleet Bank and General Motors.

Dean of the mgm casino School of Management since last August, he previously was dean of the College of Business Administration and professor of finance at Marquette University.

Mandell earned a bachelor's degree from City College of New York, a master's degree from Northwestern University and a doctorate from the University of Texas.

The cost of the "mgm casino at Sunrise" lecture, which includes a full breakfast, is $10 for mgm casino Alumni Association members and $12 for the general public.
